Welcome to My Mind. This is a memory in what it produced two years ago. I traveled to the slums of my home country, I aligned beautifully in regular day to day moments of seeing others express and I shot my version of what Saul Leiter has inspired me to and ended I up falling in love with more than just the photo.
“The Morning After.” / Dec, 2021. – Brooklyn, NY.

The main focus of this moment was the fact that the experience played subconsciously before this photo, the experience of meeting Franchesca, the fact that the exact instrument I was holding in front of her is exactly what brought us to saying hello, a Camera. I met my Muse. I met my Wife (hopefully). I learned after the shutter clicked that I wanted to shoot Ilford as long as Im breathing, and I needed this girl in front of my lens consistently.

“El Barrio.” / April 2021. – Villa Juana, Dominican Republic.

The Unruly streets of La Republica Dominicana better known as Dominican Republic. My trip in April 2021 left me with a strong realization architecturally that reflected the identity of my homeland. The conditions of some places, both inhabited and not, display a great deal of the adversity yet stability that people held when Trujillo wrongfully ruled and created division with a beautiful neighbor like Haiti.

“Long Daze.” / August 2022. – Long Island, NY.

Sometimes you need to take that moment. The one that you smile within at you cause man you doing IT! Whatever you wanted IT to be it’s in motion currently flowing. The one that you know has to happen cause those big jars can’t hold the water anymore, the tears gotta run and sometimes they beat you to the punch and you hate it but you know you feel better now. Other times it’s just that moment to touch base, ask self “How are you?”, “Don’t forget to cop those chips on your way home”, “This weekend’s gonna be Lit just push through”.
I caught this man amidst being on set for a Music Video as a D.O.P, we took a quick 15 and I just glanced around, saw him laid up and admired how in Flow he was, I wasn’t him but the relaxation surrounded him, we had a great video that day but I found myself remembering this moment the more the day progressed.
